Medical Component "...it's our privilege to hand out smiles on a daily basis Children with cancer, HIV, sickle cell anemia and other life threatening conditions can feel safe and cared for. Every medical facility is capable of accommodating the full of array treatments for the disease groups they serve, whether it's a chemotherapy treatment, a dialysis procedure, or daily infusions. Our medical facilities are designed to be as non-institutional as possible. For instance, at Camp Boggy Creek in Florida the medical center, is affectionately known as "The Patch." There's even an exam table shaped like a dinosaur and a camp nurse carries her meds in a fishing tackle box. When campers visit "The Well Shell" at The Painted Turtle, they will find colorful walls, windows overlooking the sparkling lake, and a giant domed turtle shell ceiling overhead. |
